Dr Michael Myskow graduated MBChB from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1980; he stayed in Edinburgh to complete postgraduate training in Anatomical Pathology, gaining MRCPath in 1987. During this time he developed research interests in the application of immunohistochemistry to lymphoma diagnosis.
Michael held consultant posts at Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool (1988-95), Stirling Royal Infirmary (1995-99) and the Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester (1999-2003). While working in Stirling Royal Infirmary, he was Clinical Director of the Area Laboratory, providing comprehensive diagnostic services to both hospital and community patients, for a population of 240,000.
During his time in the UK, Michael gained wide ranging clinical and managerial experience. He developed areas of diagnostic expertise in pulmonary pathology, lymphoreticular pathology and dermatopathology.
In 2003 Michael emigrated to New Zealand to join the staff in the laboratory at Nelson Hospital, where as well as taking part in general diagnostic work, he fills the role of Clinical Director.
