Dr Nicole Smith

Special Practice Responsibilities
Dr Nicole Smith graduated with a BSc (1993) and subsequently an MBChB (1997) from the University of Otago. Her clinical years were spent in Wellington where she developed an interest in pathology including a summer studentship looking at interobserver reliability in the grading of ductal carcinoma in-situ. This was followed by two years at Wellington Hospital as a house-surgeon. Following a year spent travelling and working throughout the United Kingdom, Nicole returned to Wellington and spent a year as a medical registrar. She commenced Pathology training in 2002 with her first year at The Canberra Hospital in Australia and subsequent years at Canterbury Health Laboratories in Christchurch.
Nicole received her FRCPA in 2007 and is now working at Medlab South in Christchurch where she currently enjoys many interests including skin pathology and cytopathology.
